The 2001 National Conference on Interstate Milk Shipments is now history. For
the first time in conference history, all 50 states seated delegates. Approximately
335 0ersons attended the Conference. A total of 155 Proposals were submitted for
consideration, 13 were withdrawn, 2 were tabled and not brought back to the
floor, 61 were voted "No Action", 25 were "Passed as
Submitted", 47 were "Passed as Amended", and 7 were referred to
the Laboratory Committee.
Proposals and Resolutions affecting Milk Haulers were:
Proposal 235 - a wording deletion in the PMO. As passed it called for
the deletion of the phrase "shall accompany the milk tank truck at all
times". For accuracy, Appendix B of the PMO, Section II, should read: Each
milk tank truck shall be inspected at least once each year by a regulatory
authority. (See Section 5. of the Grade "A" PMO). A copy of the
current report shall accompany them ilk tank truck at all times or the truck
shall bear an affixed label which identifies the regulatory authority with the
month and year of inspection, located near the tank outlet valve.
Proposal 235 - Makes change in the PMO, Section 3, to require
"The permit identification and state issuing the permit shall be displayed
on the milk tank truck.
Resolution #11 - Making the Hauling Procedures Subcommittee a sanding
committee. This resolution is something the Milk Haulers have needed for
sometime. It gives the haulers a more positive voice in the NCIMS.
Respectfully submitted;
Bruce Johnston
